Star Wars Toys

Ibolya, Ibolya and I were on our way to Roundwood Park last weekend, with Jane, Emilia, Hugo and Beatrice, when we came across a house having a garage sale. I immediately spotted these vintage Star Wars toys.
I've been looking on ebay for a while now, to acquire some of these for our toy cabinet, which has badly lacked much of a Star Wars presence.
These little beauties cost me £3 and are very happy and welcome addition to the cabinet.
I'm still on the look out for some vintage robots (preferably Japanese and I'd love a Godzilla) as well as a Steve Austin (Six Million Dollar Man) and an Evel Keneval.

Brighton

We had the first, proper, summer Saturday in ages yesterday. So we took Ibolya's Mum for a day out in Brighton. The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the high twenties, and the town was jam packed with day-trippers.

After a stroll around the Lanes we met up with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Mark and his family, for fish and chips at the Regency. Afterwards I had a paddle in the sea with Mark's children, Sammy and Aaron.

I really liked Sammy's self portrait
and her picture of me
and Aaron

and I took this of Sammy

Rakott Kel

On Friday evening, Ibolya's Mum made us a sensational Hungarian meal. Our friends Joanna and Lorena also joined us.
The main course was Rakott Kel, a very typical Hungarian dish, layered cabbage, rice, mince, paprika and yogurt.
Dessert was rather like Hungarian bread and butter pudding.

Roupell Street

Thursday evening I finally got to see, after a many weeks wait, 'The Dark Knight' at the London Imax. This was my 1st experience of seeing a movie in the Imax format and this film, which used Imax cameras for many sequences, is significantly enhanced by the massive screen and visceral sound.

Before the movie, I met Jerry and Tony at the White Hart, behind Waterloo, where we dined on their excellent home made burgers.
The highlight of the evening, for me, was seeing these beautiful, wonderfully preserved streets of railway worker cottages.

Carnival

On Monday Bank Holiday we took Ibolya's Mum for her first experience of the Notting Hill Carnival. We found a quiet spot at the top of Ladbroke Grove and for a couple of hours, we were entertained by the amazing rythmns, costumes and dancing of one the world's most impressive celebrations of multiculturalism.

My 100th Blog Entry!!!!

100 Blogs ago I started my Blog with the day Ibolya and I found out we were having a baby. So it's only right that I celebrate my 100th Blog with an update on Little One's progress and dedicate this entry to my beautiful wife, who's been so remarkable over the past 5 months. Never complaining, suffering or allowing the pregnancy to dominate or overwhelm her life, Ibolya has blossomed, shone and adpated like I could have never imagined.

We're now 26 weeks into the pregnancy (24 weeks from conception) and well over half way. Little One is now about 25cm in length, that's 1.5 DVD cases long and weighs 1kg, the same as a bag of sugar.

According to Dr Stoppard: 'Your baby is growing taller and stronger, while her movements are becoming more complex. She is also showing signs of sensitivity, awareness and intelligence.' Definatley taking after his mother!

There's certainly a lot more movement now and as soon as Ibolya lies down or rests, Little One starts moving and kicking. He's also quite visible when you look at Ibolya's tummy and you can actually see him moving around. Apparently, Little One is now starting to have conscious thoughts and remember things.
His hearing is also now well developed and will move his body in rhythm with our speech and can remember music that we play him. He's also able to recognise my voice.

He's now developed a sleeping routine and has a pattern of waking and sleeping
