Week 15

Now that we've had our first scan, told my parents and Ibolya's boss and posted the news on my blog, I can now record a week by week update on little bubba's progress and Ibolya's rapidly changing body.
We're pretty much decided on a girl's name but just like the first pregnancy, boys names are proving very difficult to even short list. The sex of the baby is now determined but we're definitely not going to find out the sex before the birth so sometimes I'll call little bubba 'he', sometimes 'she'.
He currently weighs about 70g and nearly 9.1cm long (slightly shorter than my iPhone) from crown to rump. Legs are growing longer than arms now and all his joints and limbs can move.
He's sensitive to light now and would be aware of light if we shone a torch at Ibolya's tummy.
Ibolya's not felt any adverse side-effects from the pregnancy yet, she's had a small bout of heart burn (which was really bad with Ruby) but not felt unwell or sick. Her appetite has increased and she's naturally feeling more tired. But all-in-all, so far, so good.

I just got an email from Ibolya with the very happy news that she's finally traded in her old, rubbish, mobile phone to a bright, new, shiny iPhone. So pleased we're living in the same world now and maybe she'll start to appreciate, as I have, the life changing pleasures of iPhone ownership.
