Bermondsey
One of the many things I still love about London, even after 21 years, is the thrill of discovering a little corner of town I was previously unfamiliar. I felt like an over excited tourist on Saturday morning, walking from Bermondsey Square, down Bermondsey Street, towards Borough Market, snapping away and pointing at things and saying to Ibolya:'look at that!'. It really brought out the Keith Pratt in me.
What a fantastic part of town, a truly great street and what an amazing place to live. It's got everything that makes for an incredible quality of life; great pubs, a villagey feel, an independant cinema and bookshop, farmers markets, tremendous restaurants and cafes, brilliant old and new buildings, a very pleasanr walk to Borough Market and Tate Modern, good public transport and thriving new businesses. For me, Bermondsey epitomises the triumph of New Labour and is a great bit of a very great city.
