I don't think I got chance to wish him a happy birthday last year as we were at St Mary's beginning the long and painful labour leading up to Ruby's arrival the next day.
To mark this special day, here's a fantastic picture of the Read family, my Mum must be behind the camera, taken in the mid 70's, on holiday (probably somewhere near Hoylake, on the Wirral coast) with my Dad (fully mustachioed in those days) in the centre, surrounded by my sisters and I and his Mum and Dad, Wilfred and Mildred. Good to see Grandpa not taking any chances with the summer weather and sporting a nice thick jumper.
