Bathroom

We have big plans for redeveloping our bathroom but not enough money to do it this year. So to get us by, while we save up, I gave it a lick of white paint over the weekend.
I think it looks a lot better, certainly brighter and cleaner. Just needs to be finished off with new blinds, some deco mirrors and I'm on a mission to find some big, colourful, 1970's, glass vases.
Here are some before and after pictures.

Ruby's 12th Week

Ruby was 3 months old on Wednesday and she's had a very full and eventful week.

She's been practising lying on her front, heaving herself up and lifting her neck.Getting really good at mastering her hand-eye coordination and is now grabbing and holding things, including her feet.

She's also been working on those vital acrobatic skills with Mummy

and getting some rest and relaxation time with Josie, on the sofa.

On Tuesday she had her latest inoculation at the doctors but felt cheerful enough to dress up for Mother and Baby group on Thursday

and found herself unexpectedly coordinated with her best-chum Maisie

She's also received visitors, including Ingrid on Thursday and Helen on Friday.

Ingrid gave Ruby this lovely spring dress and she also received these wonderful gifts from Czilla and her family, from Hungary.

Wellcome Trust

The Wellcome Trust on Euston Road has this beautiful installation in its main window, a reclining figure, made from hundreds of petri dishes of active cultures and enzymes.

Bits and Pieces with The Bennetts

Saturday Afternoon in the Countryside

On Saturday Ruby had her first trip out of London and her first experience of countryside, at my twin sister Sara's home in Bedfordshire.
It was a glorious, spring like day and the mild, sunny weather was perfect for a long, afternoon walk in the beautiful countryside where the Bennetts live.

Kate and Patrick

We had the great pleasure of dinner with the very lovely Kate and Patrick on Friday night. Ibolya used to look after Kate when she was a little girl.

Ruby visits a gallery and sees modern art

I had the great honour of a visit at work from Ibolya and Ruby on Friday. I felt immensely proud of the them both, showing them round where I work and some of the people I work with.

Afterwards I gave Ruby her first introduction to modern art, at Tate Britain. Not just any modern art but new modern art called Altermodern art. Sadly, this art equivalent to the Eurovision Song Contest isn't very good art, although Subodh Gupta's giant mushroom cloud of pots and pans 'Line of Control' is magnificent. I also really liked Bob and Roberta Smith's piece 'Off Voice Fly Tip'.
