This weekend was an exceptional good one, full of all the things that make good weekends so good. It was marred only for being a bit cross and grumpy on Saturday. Here's some of what happened:
1) Stayed in on Friday night and had a big steak dinner while watching a great programme about Latin music on BBC4 and flicking over to the final of Celebrity Big Brother (I'm glad Alex won and it's been such a good series, I'm going to miss it)
2) Got up early on Saturday morning and went for a family check up at the dentist's. It was Ruby's first visit and I was very happy that after a scrape and polish, I got an all clear
3) After lunch we went for a long, wintry, walk on Hamstead Heath, ran into a hoard of cross-country runners and filled up on coffee and bread
4) Saturday night, I went to Mark's celebration, birthday, dinner at the magnificent Princess Victoria. A really beautiful venue and enormous fun to spend the evening with some of my closest and funniest friends. No one seems to remember much that happened after the cheese course
5)Had a very early start on Sunday morning and had a beautiful cycle to Richmond with Dan and did a circuit of the park
6)Kate cooked us an absolutely magnificent roast venison lunch and we had a wonderfully relaxing, easy and filling time
7)Finally, at home - there was time for lots of playtime and story-time with Ruby
