Weekend
This was our last weekend of Ibolya's maternity leave, with a lot of planning and preparation to make for her return to work and Lookie's first day at our childminder's. So we kept things nice and simple and close to home.
I took Lookie and Ruby for a Dad's morning at the local church hall, while Ibolya had her hair done. And after lunch, Ruby and I went and had a really good swim. Ruby had a great time; she loved jumping in and not exactly swimming but more walking around in the pool.
The picture of dinner last Saturday doesn't belong here but this seemed like as good a place as any to put it and help me remember what a nice dinner it was.
On Sunday morning we went to St Mark's and after a lovely mid-afternoon family snooze, I made popcorn and a good Sunday roast which Lookie completely disrupted as he never likes to see us having a relaxed meal togther.
The first picture is of Lookie's hair. Just as mine continues to recede, thin and turn grey, his lovely blond locks are now quickly thickening and growing. Lucky little poppet.

I Dig You
I've been laid-low with a nasty bug for the last 5 days. No energy, no appetite and feeling very nauseous. But this, fantastic, Demis Roussos track made me feel a whole lot better when Jarvis Cocker played it on his show yesterday afternoon.

Frankenstein
Ibolya and I spent our Valentine's evening at the National Theatre watching Danny Boyle's new production of Frankenstein. A very, very rare night for us out without the children. It was really good. Fantastic first half, with the monster learning how to be human; experiencing the elements for the first time and how to be civilized was moving and engaging.
But the second half got a bit, 'he's behind you!', pantomime, and I started to lose my sympathy for monster when he starts to turn into a psychopath.
The leads were brilliant and deserved their standing ovation, which I haven't not seen very often. Johnny Lee Miller was that night's monster and an incredibly brave and demanding performance. Benedict Cumberbatch, they alternate roles each nigh, was the Doctor.
The set design and lighting were really striking and I loved the loud, electronic, score by Underworld.
Danny Boyle's done a really good job and made me feel a bit more optimistic about what he'll produce for the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
