Family Weekend at the Bennetts

We drove back from Wales via my twin sister's place in Bedfordshire for a big birthday family get together. Despite there being so many of us and dodgy weather, Matthew did a tremendous bbq on Saturday and big roast lunch on Sunday.
It was a wonderful, rare, opportunity to get us all together and the first time Lucas has been surrounded by his extended family. It was also especially good to see my cousin, Dr. David, and my Uncle Jim and Auntie Pauline. That's Jim, second photo from bottom.

Llantwit Holiday: Day Five, Afternoon

Our final stop, on our wonderful Welsh holiday, was another spectacular beach, called Newton Beach, where we gave Georgi a very big run around. I really liked seeing our family footsteps (and Georgi's) in the sand so that seems like an apt final photo from a really enjoyable holiday and our first as a family of 4.

We needed to have seaside fish and chips on the final day of our holiday so we went to an award winning chippy in Ogmore-by-sea. They were very, very good. After lunch I took a stroll round the picturesque holiday resort of Coney Beach, took lots of pictures and felt very Martin Parr.

We rounded off an absolutely fantastic holiday-birthday with a slap up meal of steak and snails at Illtud's 216, a family bath in Andy's big tub and the latest episode of Mistresses.

After our morning in Cowbridge, we spent the afternoon at the stunning Southerndown beach, as beautful and impressive a beach as you'd find anywhere in the UK.

My birthday! So we went for a birthday breakfast at the Bear Hotel in the beautiful village of Cowbridge, a short drive from Andy's. We loved walking round Cowbridge. The volenteer gardeners in the Physic gardens asked me to take thier picture.
