Fell Head Part Three

Just a final couple of parting pictures, from our last morning at our holiday idell at Fell Head. There was even a full rainbow before we left. Ibolya and I both said wishes and hope we can return in a year or two to this beautiful place.

Fell Head Part Two

The second half of our trip involved a relaxing morning, hanging out at the cottage, waiting for the weather to subside. It didn't so we headed out anyway for an afternoon walk to a nearby tarn and all got very wet.

Christophe and Stephen constructed a magnificent Bavarian Mansion, 3-D puzzle, in next to no time. Chloe joined us on Wednesday evening and on Thursday we all went to Derwent Water, had a wonderful, unplanned drive through lush hill and mountain sides and found the spot where Stephen had camped for a few weeks, 20 years ago.

Fell Head, Westmoreland, Cumbria

Here are the first few day's Lake District holiday snaps. We stayed in a little cottage called Fell Head, in a beautiful and isolated spot, on the edge of Cumbria, surrounded by rolling green moors, topped with purple heather.
We were joined by Stephen's cousin Jim's family for the first couple of days, who were really lovely company. The highlights of the first half of the trip were a great game of Balderdash, a walk round, the magnificent, Bowes House and a walk up to a gorge and waterfall, who's name I need Stephen to remind me of.
