40th Birthday Party

I had an absolutely wonderful 40th birthday party on Saturday night. Although I was really anxious that a lot of people couldn't make it, I really couldn't have hoped to enjoy it as much as I did and for it to have gone so well.
Vittoriano planned, prepared and procured a glorious buffet, Jessica did something miraculous with a few flowers, Ibolya read a poem she'd written for me, all the girls looked absolutely gorgeous, booze was good and plentiful and my playlists got everyone dancing.
A truly spectacular way to end my 30's, start my 40's and made me feel more fortunate and lucky than I ever have done.

Where the Wild Things Are

I loved Where the Wild Things Are when I was young and I now read it to Ruby regularly, although not sure she enjoys it as much as I enjoy reading it to her. Really hope Spike Jonze' movie lives up to it, although any film with Catherine Keener in is alright by me.
Could this be the last blog entry of my thirties?

Coveta Fuma: Ruby

And finally from Coveta Fuma (actually, I think I have one more to do) here are Ruby's holiday snaps. I think she really enjoyed her first trip abroad with her auntie, uncle and cousins, and it was full of many firsts for her. First time: in a plane, abroad, in the sea, eating water melon, sitting in a supermarket trolley and she came back with her first two teeth! What a trip for a young lady.
