After the pleasures of the Wellcome Collection our next stop was another one London's great treasures and best kept secrets; the Wallace Collection at Hertford House, Manchester Square.I'd forgotten this incredible Titian was there, 'Persius and Andromeda'

I visited the Wallace Collection many time over the years (I used to go in my lunch hour when I worked at HMV 363 Oxford Street) so seeing these works in the collection is like seeing old friends again. I love this Watteau; 'Harlequin and Columbine'Hals 'Laughing Cavalier'

Nothing prepared me for coming across this. A very rare etching by Van Gogh, of Dr Gachet, the physician who cared for Vincent during his final days
A cabinet of prosthetic limbs
A Peruvian mummified corpse

Surgical tools

Forceps!
Japanese sex toys

These might make you think twice?

I brought 'Where the Wild Things Are' as a potential birthday present for my nephew Hugo, but thankfully, he's already got it so I can hang on to it for Little One. I loved this book when I was young and also really wanted Ibolya to see it.
